Reduction in the volume and mass of solid waste is a crucial issue in regards to waste management. The BM3000 densification technology allows for the processing of a wide range of low density waste materials from plastic, RDF, SRF, to dry sewage sludge and biomass into high density briquettes with an energy value of about 19-23 GJ per tonne. The end product, which is easily stored, transported and managed further can be used as a high quality fuel and is ecological in nature. The BM3000 is characterised by its considerably lower operating cost than other available solutions. The significance of our densification technology resides in its faster combustion process which increases the energy value of RDF by 15-18% when mixed with bio fraction. While the operating cost of other available technologies for RDF/ SRF densification are disproportionately high (waste condensation and enrichment by removal of inorganic material and moisture), 150PLN / m3 with a density of 450kg/m3, the SQR Pelletizer operates at around 30PLN / m3 with a product density of 650kg/m3. It maximises the recovery of organic and recyclable materials from residual waste while allowing their preparation for use a fuel. The energy value of the briquettes is between 19-23 GJ/ton which is very similar to the energy value of coal 16-26 GJ/ton.

A NEW APPROACH TOWARDS REFUSE DERIVED FUEL (RDF) DENSIFICATION
As every waste-derived product, typical RDF and SRF vary from one waste treatment centre to another, featuring different particle size, calorific values and moisture. However, because of its ways of preparation, refuse-derived fuels are usually composed of very lightweight materials (100 – 150 kg/m3), which limits the potential usages due to the low density and significant volume of the product.
Challenges of RDF densification has been explored in multiple ways, including compacting, pelletizing and briquette production. However, traditional methods of compacting which are efficient for biomass, often encounter many exploitation difficulties when applied for waste-derived material. Experiencing high operating costs of classic densification processes has driven us to entirely new approach towards compacting the refuse-derived fuels.
OUR SOLUTION TO WASTE FUEL DENSIFICATION
Our patented solution can be used variety of waste and biomass fractions, from RDF, SRF, waste plastics, through dry sewage sludge up to biomass. By minimizing the operating costs, we can process low-density materials (100 – 150 kg/m3) into a 32 – 32 mm uniform briquettes with a the density 650 kg/m3. The obtained product is easy to transport, store and manage further.
